Watch out for any possible scenario.
Thus expressed by senators who said that terrorist could bomb the
American and Israeli Embassies in Manila in commemoration of the
1st anniversary of 9-11.
Senator Tessie Aquino Oreta urged law enforcers to safeguard not
only these areas, but other vital installations across the
country as well, such as power transmission towers, from possible
terror attacks by groups belonging to or supportive of the
AlQaeda network believed responsible for last year's attacks in
the United States.
Oreta issued the call as she reminded authorities that other
high-risk areas, such as the transmission lines and towers of the
Napocor could also be open targets for terrorists.
Senator Loren Legarda condemn any form of terrorism describing it
as inhumane, killing civilians and destroying property to attain
a political goal which is an outrage against mankind.
Legarda also commend the Arroyo administration for placing our
government squarely behind the fight against terrorism,
international and domestic.
The Senators issued the call following a report by the Cable news
network (CNN) that an Al Qaeda operative has revealed a supposed
terrorist plot targeting the US and Israeli embassies in Manila.
Defense Sec. Angelo Reyes said the revelation should be taken
seriously.///camille p. balagtas
